Why did I write this song?—–A lot of my songs are derived from experiences and emotions I deal with everyday. Whether it be about my small business and my ambitions for success or my experiences with women. “NIGHT LIKE THIS” is about my ex-girlfriend who I was dating with last year. I begin the song explaining how me reaching some of my set goals were changing me. I was focusing a lot more on my work and less on my love. She forewarned me about leaving but never about cheating. After both occurred I boxed myself in a room, lab or place where I would remain busy and unfocused on the fact that being without her was killing my character. Due to the fact that we had such a unique friendship going into the relationship I was able to see past a lot of the mistakes made. The title “NIGHT LIKE THIS” comes into play because I showcase how I wont spend another night of my life feeling locked down or trapped or just too uncomfortable to go out and be who I want to be.
